Fleas also are known as the jumping insects are minute creatures where a fully grown adult grows to the size of a pinhead and in this post, we will look at 5 ways of how to get rid of fleas on the carpet.

How to kill fleas naturally from the carpet

1.) Salt Remedy

Being a common daily used household ingredient, the salt will help you get rid of the tough fleas, especially on the carpets. The dehydration property on the salt is the most important aspect of the salt that is an excellent agent for dehydrating the fleas and drying them out before killing them.

You need table salt or any sea salt and a big bottle with a shaker top. Simply fill up the bottle leaving a little room so you can be able to shake and sprinkle the salt evenly on the carpet.

After sprinkling the salt, cover the area and leave it for 24 hours and then vacuum thoroughly.

2.) Homemade Lemon Spray

The lemon spray is one of the most efficient and simple methods to remove fleas from your carpet naturally.

Simply cut the lemon into slices adds water into a pot and boil over medium flame. Take it off from the heat as soon as it has boiled and left the mixture to settle overnight.

Remove the lemon slices and pour the water into a spray bottle the following day. Now spray the carpet with this solution paying special attention where the fleas are likely to have invaded.

 

3.) Simple Flea Trap

You never know when the fleas invade your home. They can come from no specific place and you can never have any proper method to catch them.

A simple home flea trap can come in handy in trapping the fleas in one area.  A few drops of liquid detergent and water will do the trick.

Simply add the liquid dish soap into a bowl of water and thoroughly mix this combination.

Carefully place the bowl on the floor next to the wall and place a lamp next to it. Turn on the lamp and the light will attract the fleas and they will jump trying to reach the light but will fall into the soapy water.

This solution will deter them from jumping up back again. It is noteworthy to keep your pets away from this solution

4.) Vacuum Your House to Kill Fleas

Fleas love to hide in the places where the sunlight is hard to reach. In this case, to remove them from these areas you will need to do extensive vacuuming.

You need to be a bit thorough while dealing with fleas and clean the area where you will find dried blood, feces, and furnished Vacuuming alone does not kill fleas therefore you need to sprinkle salt, Borax, or baking soda in the area before the vacuuming.

Work more properly onto the base of the carpet with a broom. Allow the powder sit for a few hours; this will in turn dry out the flea eggs

5.) Rosemary to Kill Fleas

Rosemary is a natural remedy to get rid of fleas fast. It is highly recommended you use rosemary if the invasion is not enormous.

Use this remedy to control fleas in your home. You can either use it as a powder or as oil. To get rid of fleas on the dogs, wash them with rosemary water.

Simply boil a few rosemary leaves over medium flame for 15 minutes.

Also, you can take rosemary, fennel, peppermint, wormwood, and grind all these ingredients together using a coffee grinder. Occasionally, sprinkle this powder on the areas infested by fleas like carpet and furniture
