What does the Structural Pest Control Board do?

Functions of the Structural Pest Control Board

The Structural Pest Control Board is a government institution that was formed in the year 1935 by the California state in the United States of America. The purpose in which it was formed was to license and regulate people that are engaged in the business of Structural Pest Control.  The board consists of seven members out of which four of these members are from the public while the rest are from the pest control business or we can call them professional in the industry.

It is a great resource for home owners or consumers of the pest control market for that matter.

Here are some of the things that can be done by consumers

  • Make a complaint to the board – there are several things that a home owner might want to report to the Structural Pest Control Board after feeling aggrieved in one way or the other. Some of the issues to report on include failure by a pest control company to do the work as agreed, working without a license and much more.
  • Verify a license that is held by a pest control company
  • Get information about termite inspection. If someone would like to get information on whether a specific property has been inspected for termites or not, then this is the place to get such information.

For pest control businesses here is what they can do.

  • Apply and be issued a license
  • Renew and also update their license

There are also exams that can be taken by operators and field representatives. This is usually very necessary before one is given a license. There is also the continuing course for operators.

These are some of the functions of the structural pest control board so before you venture into any form of pest control, then be sure to check out this site first.
